This photo taken from the Neolithic site of Djade situated on a Pleistocene terrace. It shows the flood plain before flooding by the Tishrine dam in the late 1990s. Before the construction of dams upstream starting in the 1970s the flood plain would have been totally flooded in the late spring due to the spring rains combined with snow melt in eatsern Turkey.
